Out of Order…

A while back I mentioned I would be transferring my blog to a new location. I have yet to do so, and have been searching for a good home to locate my blog. In the mean time, I have undergone some issues that have taken away from my time that I would normally have spent in my craft room. It has been a rather stressful time since my last post as my craft room is my “safe haven”, my place of solitude where I can get rid of all the nonsense of the outside world and just focus on me for a little bit.

I will be dedicating a lot of time on getting back to focusing on my own needs as well as the needs of those around me. My craft room needs major work  and my projects need to get caught up and finished. So, over the course of the next few days, my desk will become visible again, cards will be made, swaps will be completed, November’s hop will be prepped and ready to publish as will upcoming sales…and I will get ready for upcoming shoulder surgery.

Will my creativity time ever be back to normal? Yes…yes it will. It will just take a little work and determination on my part, and a little understanding from those around me that I am an artisan who needs to release frustrations by cutting, snipping, pasting, and sharing (among other such things). Otherwise, I am totally out-of-order and down for the count…at least mentally.

It’s September…

and it’s time to think about the new Stampin’ UP! Holiday Catalog that launched yesterday, September 5th. Have you been enjoying the Christmas Cards by Mail Classes? I hope so because there are only 2 more classes to go before it’s time to mail out all those Christmas Cards, and once those classes are completed, if you have done all of them from June to October, you will have 50 beautiful, hand-made cards to share with your friends and family. With the new Holiday catalog, there are so many more choices for which stamp sets to use for the upcoming cards as well as so many more accessories and embellishments, it’s been a real challenge to pick and choose the right ones.

While I continue to offer all my classes, I will also be making some changes to my blog, which is why I haven’t been doing my regular weekly post. I am hoping all changes will be done quickly, so please bear with me, and keep checking my FB page and webstore for all the regular specials in the meantime. I will keep posting as I continue to make the changes, so keep checking.

As always, stay creatively stamping!

August Christmas Card Class by Mail

Painted Harvest PP set

How can an Autumn-based stamp set be turned into a Christmas card? Well, if you use your imagination and creativity, which I have plenty of both, this is the next stamp set I am using to create a beautiful Christmas card. Remember, you will receive enough supplies to create 10 cards (card stock, envelopes, and accessories, plus any Big Shot die cutting as well as any Washi Tape will already be done) plus a completed card to follow along with in order to save me from having to create a video or pdf file (for a total of 11 cards). All you will have to do is stamp, color and put together the cards using your own inks and favorite adhesives. How much will this cost you? I only charge $20 per class plus shipping. You can purchase the stamp set separately, or you can choose to add it along with the cost of the class. Either way, this is one class you won’t want to miss. Orders for the class need to be placed with me no later than August 20th, 2018, and classes will ship to you by the end of August. Please contact me  with your order for this month’s Christmas Card by Mail asap so you don’t miss out! Limited number of classes are available, so don’t wait too long. When contacting me for this class, please use August 2018 Christmas Card CBM in the subject line so I know which class you are referring to.

August Blog Hop

Country INKers Blog Button Resized (1)

Yes, it’s that time of the month again! This month’s theme is summer time! I know everyone has their own idea of what summer entails, but to me it means bright colors, butterflies, flowers, and a lot of sunshine! It also means being able to spend a lot of time outside enjoying these things! In order to put these ideas into a card, I used a couple bright colors, some flowers, and a couple of butterflies! Here’s my finished card:

August blog hop card

Using the new Stamparatus positioning tool, I created the flower and butterfly wreath using the stamps from the Serene Garden Photopolymer Stamp set. (Lovely tutorial for making wreaths using the Stamparatus by Dawn Olchefske, by the way!) I used So Saffron and Shaded Spruce ink on Whisper White card stock. I mounted the wreath on Garden Impressions DSP, and then again on Whisper White card stock. The leaves and 1-1/4 ” circle are punched from the new Call Me Clover 2018-2020 In Color collection, as well as some vellum paper. That big bow on the front of the card is the Gold 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon. I used Dimensionals to pop the wreath piece up off the base card, which is also made of Whisper White card stock and Garden Impressions DSP, then decorated with a couple Basic Pearls. Nice summer-y colors with a little bit of glitz, ready to send off for a summer birthday or maybe even as a thank you card!

By now I hope you are beginning to settle in to all the new products in the 2018 catalog, and finding some new favorites! August will be the second month of my Christmas Card Classes by Mail, and those of you who did last month’s class now have 10 cards ready to go! I will be posting the next class’s stamp set by week’s end, so get ready for another round of 10 cards to be headed your way with another cute stamp set!

Paper Pumpkin will be on sale for 50% off the first month (new subscribers only) if you subscribe by August 10th. I LOVE these kits! You get everything you need in one little box to create a different project every month, right to your door!

The Holiday Mini Catalogs will be available in September, and I will be previewing samples from the catalog all month long. Keep checking back to see what your favorite Holiday items will be! I already have a couple of ideas of what mine will be!

Blogging around the…

Country INKers Blog Button Resized (1)

Well, I was going to say block, but since it’s the monthly blog hop again, I guess I should say Hopping around the blogs! LOL This month’s theme is, of course, Red, White, and Blue in honor of the 4th of July. I am happy to say that celebrating this country’s birthday is something I do with pride, and anyone who has a birthday in July is lucky to celebrate right along side our flag. Anyway, I used two different shades of Reds and Blues to complement the White to create my cards this month.

The first card is a birthday card, with a “dark theme” of red, white, and blue.

I used Night of Navy, Whisper White, and Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  For the back of the circle, I used the new Garden Impressions 6×6 Designer Series Paper. Ribbon of Courage is the stamp set that contains both the greeting and the cute little heart on the inside, which was perfectly cut out with the matching framelits die set called Support Ribbon Framelits Dies. To round out the front of the card, I used Silver Mini Sequins ribbon and the Layering Circle Framelits Dies. The circles are placed one on top of the other with Snail adhesive, then on top of the cardstock with Dimensionals. There are also two Basic Rhinestone on the top and bottom of the greeting. The inside of the card is created with the “Happy Birthday” Framelits Dies, but embossed with the  new Big Shot Embossing Mats. I really like the deeper tones of the Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler to create this card, and the silver just adds the extra sparkle to make this card perfect for July 4th.

The second card, a celebration card, uses Real Red and Blueberry Bushel (one of the new In Colors) to highlight the Whisper White.

The Garden Impressions 6×6 DSP is enhancing the bottom of the card, and the Basic Rhinestones offset the upper left corner and small greeting banner. The Rose is from the Beautiful Day stamp set, and the greeting is from the Tabs for Everything stamp set. The rose is colored with the blue and red Brusho Crystal Color, and the Daffodil, Pumpkin, and Old Olive Blends alcohol markers. There are Basic Pearls to highlight the center of the rose to finish it off. Both the small banner and the rose are attached to the card base with Dimensionals. Sending someone this card for the 4th, especially for a birthday, would give them a Red, White, and Blue day for sure!

If you like either of the ideas shown here on my blog, just click on the “shop now” button at the top of the page, or click here to go to my store to place an order for any item.

With July 4th around the corner, from here you can hop on over to Barb’s blog, beelinestamping, where you’ll find more great ideas for a Red, White and Blue day.

If would you like to join next month’s blog hop, it’s easy. Just join me (or any of us below) as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and you can hop along each month.  Just ask for more details.
